New automated garbage system being introduced

Now that better weather is here and back alleys are more passable, residents are asked to return

Now that better weather is here and back alleys are more passable, residents are asked to return to placing their garbage, yard, kitchen and recycling waste to their regular collection locations.

Collection in these locations began on Tuesday.

Residents will also begin receiving new receptacles as the town prepares to roll out its new automated garbage collection service.

“The receptacles will have an information package attached, which will identify whether the residence will have front street or rear alley collection moving forward,” said the town‘s communications officer, Joanne Gaudet, in a media release. “The town will introduce this new service throughout the summer.”

Residents are encouraged to visit www.sylvanlake.ca/projects for more information about the program.
