Police find intoxicated man lying on railroad tracks

RCMP received a call of an intoxicated male lying on the railroad tracks.

September 20

2:14 p.m. – RCMP received a call of an intoxicated male lying on the railroad tracks. The 22-year-old Sylvan Lake male was seen stumbling around the area. Police arrived and arrested the male for public intoxication. He was lodged in cells until sober.

4:01 p.m. – A stunting ticket was issued to a 25-year-old male in relation to a road rage incident which began on Highway 2 continuing onto Highway 11. The 15-year-old complainant reported that a male in a Mustang was continually speeding past his vehicle, then passing his vehicle and applying the brakes in front of him. The erratic driver was also making gestures to the complainant from his vehicle. The suspect vehicle was located by RCMP and the driver was issued a $402 fine.

September 21

4:16 a.m. – A 911 call was received of a disturbance at an address on Township Road 384 in Red Deer County. Witnesses reported several youths speeding up and down the road with alcohol being thrown out of vehicle windows. RCMP conducted patrols in the area however the individuals involved had left the area.

11:40 a.m. – RCMP are investigating vandalism at 46 Street and 50th Avenue in Sylvan Lake. Some heavy equipment parked on the street was damaged with rocks. Windows on a unit were also smashed. The culprits fled the scene before police could locate them.

6:27 p.m. – Police were contacted by staff at the Sylvan Lake McDonalds in relation to an irate customer. A 34-year-old male from Spruce Grove was swearing and threatened to hit staff because of an error with his order. A staff member refunded his money and he left the area without further incident.

September 22

7:24 a.m. – A 46-year-old female is facing a charge in relation to a domestic dispute at a residence at Garden Court in Sylvan Lake. A 54-yearold male contacted police and advised that he had been assaulted by his spouse who threw a cell phone at his head. The male sustained minor injuries. The female, who was intoxicated at the time of the incident, was taken into custody and was lodged until sober. She was formally charged with assault with a weapon.

7:32 p.m. – A 911 call was received by RCMP from a female advising that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend at a residence on 44th Street in Sylvan Lake. A 24-year-old female told police that she was choked and thrown to the ground, resulting in non-life threatening injuries. The male had left the residence and was later located in Red Deer. A 28-year-old Sylvan Lake male is charged with assault and overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offence.

September 23

7:16 p.m. – A verbal argument in a parking lot on 50A Avenue in Sylvan Lake turned physical resulting in police attendance. A 29-year-old female and 31-year-old male, both from Sylvan Lake, were involved in a physical altercation over a cell phone where the female was scratched and spat on. The male is currently facing a charge of assault.

September 25

2:11 a.m. – Another domestic dispute at a residence located on Ryders Ridge Boulevard has resulted in charges laid against a 50-year-old Sylvan Lake male. A male contacted police saying he had been assaulted by his 38-year-old girlfriend. Police investigated and determined the male to be the perpetrator. He was formally charged with assault. Alcohol was a factor in the incident.

September 26

6:03 p.m. – RCMP attended a domestic dispute at a residence on Reynolds Road in Sylvan Lake. A 29-year-old female was involved in a physical altercation with her 31-year-old former common law spouse, following an argument. The male told police he was struck in the jaw and pushed down the stairs. He did not sustain life threatening injuries. The female was arrested and is charged with assault.
