Red Deer female charged after vehicles at church broken into

RCMP received a call of a female acting erratically on Lakeshore Drive in Sylvan Lake.

Saturday, July 19th

6:09 p.m. - RCMP received a call of a female acting erratically on Lakeshore Drive in Sylvan Lake. An employee of Buk Wildz reported that the female was extremely intoxicated or under the influence of a substance and was found naked inside the bar washroom. The female was eventually located by police in a vehicle outside the bar. The female was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in cells until sober. Her vehicle was also towed.

7:44 p.m. - A collision between a truck and quad on Highway 12 resulted in a fine being issued to the quad driver. A truck driver was eastbound on Highway 12 when he witnessed three dirt bikes and a quad come out of the ditch and cross the highway without stopping. He advised he managed to avoid the dirt bikes but just clipped the quad, resulting in the collision. Fortunately, no one was injured. A 26-year-old Red Deer male who was driving the quad is charged with failing to yield under the Traffic Safety Act.

Sunday, July 20th

1:49 a.m. - A 911 call was received of a suspicious male banging on the door of a residence on Harrigan Street in Sylvan Lake. The male appeared to be intoxicated. RCMP arrived to find the male on the front lawn. The 22-year-old Sylvan Lake male advised that he was assaulted but further investigation revealed that he was physically removed from his girlfriend’s residence after being asked to leave and refusing to do so. He was arrested for public intoxication and was lodged in cells until sober.

8:56 a.m. - RCMP attended Comfort Inn & Suites in Sylvan Lake after an intoxicated male refused to leave the lobby. The male was unable to provide proof that he was staying at the hotel. The male had wanted to go swimming in the pool but staff denied him access. The 30 year-old male from Toronto was arrested for causing a disturbance. He was taken to cells and later released into the care of a family member.

12:01 p.m. - A 31-year-old Red Deer female is facing charges in relation to a break in to several vehicles parked in the Lutheran Church parking lot in Red Deer County. The female accessed several vehicles during church services and obtained various items as a result. The accused was charged with theft and obstruction as she also provided a false identity to police.

Tuesday, July 22nd

12:35 p.m. - A 42-year-old Sylvan Lake male is charged with assault in relation to a domestic dispute in the parking lot of Bayshore Market on Lakeshore Drive in Sylvan Lake. A 46-year-old Red Deer female contacted police advising that her ex-boyfriend would not let her have access to her vehicle keys. The two were involved in an earlier physical altercation in Red Deer for which the male was arrested and charged with assault.

9:39 p.m. - A motor vehicle collision on 42nd Street at 50th Avenue in Sylvan Lake resulted in charges. A female and male were involved in a collision at that location then the female left the scene resulting in the male following her to the Canadian Tire parking lot. The female refused to get out of the vehicle or speak with the other driver and made a gesture to him that she was armed with a gun. RCMP attended and the female was fined with failing to produce a driver’s license, failure to produce insurance, and following too closely.

Wednesday, July 23rd

9:38 p.m. - A 911 call was received by RCMP from a male on Hinshaw Drive in Sylvan Lake. He reported that his female neighbour showed up at his door advising that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The 22-year-old female had sustained injury to her left eye and told police that she was also choked on more than one occasion by him. A 27-year-old Sylvan Lake male is charged with uttering threats; two counts of overcoming resistance; assault; and mischief under $5,000.

Thursday, July 24th

11:23 p.m. - A 27-year-old Red Deer male is facing charges in relation to an erratic driving complaint on Highway 20 at Erickson Drive in Sylvan Lake. An off duty RCMP officer observed a driver all over the road, nearly hitting the ditch and then crossing into the median before turning onto Highway 20 going at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle was stopped on Highway 20 after running two red lights. A roadside screening device was utilized when the driver exhibited obvious signs of impairment. The male is charged with impaired driving; having a blood alcohol level over .08, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Friday, July 25th

12:39 a.m. - A domestic disturbance at Best Western Chateau Inn in Sylvan Lake resulted in RCMP attendance. A male and female were drinking beer in the hotel parking lot when a physical altercation ensued. A 35 year-old female from Edmonton sustained minor injuries. A 25-year-old male from Ardrossan was arrested and charged with assault and disobeying an order of court.
