Police say road conditions were a factor in a two-vehicle collision that killed three people south of Rimbey Dec. 21.
Police were called to the scene of a serious collision on Highway 20 near Township Road 420 around 1 p.m., where investigation revealed a northbound car crossed the centre line and collided with a southbound SUV.
The lone male occupant of the car was pronounced dead on scene. The SUV was carrying a Rimbey-area family of five. One of its child occupants was also pronounced dead on scene, while another child later died at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Other occupants of the SUV were taken to hospital in Red Deer to be treated for serious injuries.
