Sylvan Lake Culture Master Plan process gains momentum

Have your say in the Culture Master Plan - participate in the upcoming community consultation night.

A community consultation night is scheduled for January 24th, at the Family and Community Centre (4725 – 43 Street), session participants will share insight, and help shape the vision and set the direction of the Culture Master Plan.

Engaging the public face-to-face is considered a priority for the development of the Plan. Participants are asked to register at 6:00 PM, with activities taking place between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m.

“I’m hoping to get a big turnout to this (consultation night). The best way to strengthen arts and culture in our community is to play an active role.” said Mayor Sean McIntyre.

The Town’s forthcoming Cultural Master Plan will profile the community’s rich cultural resources, and identify better ways to coordinate, align, and promote the cultural resources to both residents and visitors. A Culture Master Plan will also broaden the recognition of the Town of Sylvan Lake as a creative and vibrant municipality, where the growth of the cultural sector is fostered as a vital component of the community’s social and economic well-being.

In addition to the consultation night on the 24th, an online survey is still available for the public to participate in. www.sylvanlake.ca/public-notices
