Sylvan Lake has been recognized as a favourite waterfront destination by a leading magazine.
Mayor Susan Samson said the town was honoured as the 2013 RV West Reader’s Choice Award for Favourite Lake or Waterfront destination in Alberta.
“It was a surprise. I didn’t even know (the award) was even out there.”
Samson said Sylvan Lake can expect a busy tourism season this summer.
“Travel inside the province is on the rise and the RV magazine has a large readership, so we can be sure we will be on the list as a great place to stop.”
“Residents of Sylvan Lake have always known how amazing our community is and what a privilege it is to live next to such a beautiful lake, but it’s certainly rewarding to know that others also recognize this,” said Samson.
The RV West Reader’s Choice Awards is voted on by readers of the publication. Businesses and destinations are nominated in more than 40 categories. The full list will be published in the March/April edition and online.
