Domestic incidents result in charges

Saturday, March 1st

1:23 a.m. – A Sylvan Lake man contacted police to report a break in to his vehicle parked outside of his residence on 49th Avenue. The vehicle was accessed through a rear sliding window and keys were stolen from the console. A few other items were also taken. An investigation is continuing.

10:51 p.m. – RCMP were called to Hazzard County Bar on 46th Street in Sylvan Lake after a report of several people fighting at that location. No weapons were seen. When police attended, the males involved in the altercation had already dispersed with no further incidents reported.

Sunday, March 2nd

12:52 p.m. – A resident of Firdale Road in Sylvan Lake reported a theft from his vehicle which occurred overnight. The tailgate off of his truck was stolen. He advised that he hadn’t heard anything unusual during the time of the incident.

Monday, March 3rd

3:40 p.m. – A 35 year old Sylvan Lake male is facing charges in relation to longterm domestic abuse at a residence on Firdale Close in Sylvan Lake. The male is facing two charges of assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats against a person. The victim is a 49 year old female.

Thursday, March 6th

12:01 a.m. – A domestic dispute on Hagerman Road in Sylvan Lake has resulted in a charge being laid against a 37 year old Sylvan Lake male. RCMP received a 911 call from a 28 year old female who advised that she had been pushed to the ground but that no further violence had taken place. A 7 month old baby was in the residence at the time of the incident but was not harmed. The male was taken to cells due to alcohol consumption and to protect all parties involved. He is charged with assault.

Friday, March 7th

7:03 p.m. – RCMP were called to Highway 11 and Range Road 15 where a male was walking on the north side of the road. A complainant advised that she was concerned the male would be hit by oncoming traffic as he was difficult to see. A 30 year old male of no fixed address was located by members. He was noted to be acting erratically, refused ID and attempted to walk away. He was subsequently arrested for obstruction and was held in cells overnight for his safety as he was believed to be under the influence of a substance. He was released without charge.
