Theft of air hose and tools from Husky site reported

RCMP received a complaint of a noisy party bus in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Hinshaw Drive

Sunday, April 13th

12:07 a.m. - RCMP received a complaint of a noisy party bus in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Hinshaw Drive in Sylvan Lake. The bus driver was asked to move out of the area as the passengers were causing a disturbance for tenants in the building at which point some of the passengers on the bus became belligerent. A constable arrived on scene and advised the driver that the music must be turned down as the bus was in a residential area. The bus then left the area without incident.

Monday, April 14th

1:05 p.m. - A complaint of mischief to mailboxes in Red Deer County was reported to RCMP. Witnesses reported that several mailboxes in the area of Sand Road and Range Road 24 were damaged with one mailbox destroyed and its contents set on fire. An investigation is continuing.

Wednesday, April 16th

10:54 p.m. - RCMP attended a single vehicle collision in which the female driver sustained injury. A 54 year old woman from Alhambra was driving westbound on Highway 11 at Highway 20 when she slowed and then collided directly with a light standard at the intersection. She was treated for non-life threatening injuries by EMS. Alcohol and road conditions were not factors in the collision.

Thursday, April 17th

9:23 a.m. - A theft from a Husky Oil site was reported. A complainant advised that an air hose reel and air hose along with tools were stolen. There was no evidence of forced entry at the facility located near the Highway 11 at Range Road 24 intersection.

Saturday, April 19th

3:28 a.m. - A 911 call was placed to police in relation to a family dispute in progress at a residence on Lakeway Boulevard. A 47-year-old woman from Sylvan Lake was reportedly intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The woman was arrested for breach of peace and lodged in cells until sober.

2:28 p.m. - A 22-year-old Eckville male is facing a charge in relation to a traffic stop on 48th Avenue at 50th Street in Sylvan Lake. A truck was pulled over at the intersection by RCMP members after it was found to be in violation of various Traffic Safety Act regulations. The male driver was also noted to have alcohol on his breath; however he refused to provide a breath sample. He is charged with Refusal of an Approved Screening Device.

8:33 p.m. - RCMP have charged a male in relation to a domestic dispute involving his former spouse. A female reported that she had been threatened by her ex-husband and had also been previously assaulted by him. Sylvan Lake RCMP issued a warrant for the 39-year-old Red Deer male’s arrest. He is charged with assault and uttering threats.

Sunday, April 20th

10:08 p.m. - A 911 call was received by RCMP regarding a driving complaint. Drivers of two trucks were witnessed racing down 46th Street onto Lakeshore Drive and then onto 50th Street in Sylvan Lake. One of the trucks was located by police and a stunting ticket was issued to the 20-year-old driver, a resident of Eckville. A stunting ticket carries a $402 fine.

11:43 p.m. - A 40-year-old Sylvan Lake male is facing an assault charge in relation to a domestic dispute at a residence on Marina Bay Court in Sylvan Lake. The 21-year-old victim advised that she had been assaulted and choked following an argument. She was able to exit the residence without further incident and contacted police.
