Following are calls responded to by Sylvan Lake’s volunteer firefighters, during the week ending August 27

Destroyed - A fifth wheel holiday trailer was destroyed by fire about 6:40 p.m. last Tuesday. Sylvan Lake firefighters were quick to quell the blaze after they arrived on scene for find flames shooting from the windows and roof of the unoccupied Wildwood trailer which was parked in a farm yard just off Range Road 382 west of Highway 781. No one was home at the time of the fire.

Following are calls responded to by Sylvan Lake’s volunteer firefighters, during the week ending August 27, as supplied by Deputy Fire Chief Steve Scanland.

Monday, August 20 - 2:12 p.m. - alarm, no fire, Old Boomer Road.

Tuesday, August 21 - 12:22 a.m. - gas leak, CO detector, 49th Street Close.

Tuesday, August 21 - 2:20 p.m. - motor vehicle collision, Highway 20 and 47th Avenue.

Tuesday, August 21 - 6:40 p.m. - vehicle fire, fifth wheel trailer destroyed, Township Road 382, west of Highway 781, Red Deer County.

Wednesday, August 22 - 1:33 p.m. - minor grass fire, Kuusamo Industrial Park, Red Deer County.

Friday, August 24 - 10:07 a.m. - technical rescue, man fell into bin at Sylvan Lake waste transfer site.

Friday, August 24 - 3:27 p.m. - medical assistance, 48th Street.
