The Vista at Ryders Ridge

The Vista at Ryders Ridge featured prominently in the Sept. 11 town council meeting. A request to amend the Outline Plan for the development was submitted.

The developer’s request for amendment to the Outline Plan includes a redistribution of much of the low density single family lots from Medium Lot Residential (R1A) to Narrow Lot General Residential (R5) in response to market conditions. The amendment also included requests to increase the size of the commercial sites, switching the school site to a park space and adding two north-south trails. Council approved the amendment.

Wastewater situation update

Dave Brand, Director of Public Works updated the council on the wastewater situation. All three federal regulatory (WSER) samples taken throughout July and August passed and more WSER tests are being performed. Several operational changes have been made in the lagoon to increase treatment quality including, recirculating from storage through treatment. While full-time monitoring of the septic receiving station will continue, positive biological growth is returning.

Those wishing to participate in the program must apply at least three weeks before their chosen date, and their event needs to be not-for-profit and/or community focused.
