Town seeking input on residents’ recreation, arts and culture interests

Determining opportunities to serve the interests of residents in recreation, arts and culture programming

Determining opportunities to serve the interests of residents in recreation, arts and culture programming is the aim of an assessment underway in Sylvan Lake.

The town’s recreation, parks and culture department is conducting a survey to gather information about what residents would like to see in future programming.

That may include registered and drop-in programs that are not currently offered in Sylvan Lake, according to a media release from Joanne Gaudet, the town’s communications officer.

“Recreation programs could include fitness classes or children’s sports programs, while cultural programming could include craft workshops, or theatre and drama classes.”

The eight question survey is available online at sylvanlake.ca/projects, or may be picked up at town facilities. It will also be available in Sylvan Lake Community Guide which comes out in mid-April. Residents may complete the survey between now and summer.

Completed surveys may be returned in person to the aquatic centre, town hall or emailed to mmorrison@sylvanlake.ca.
