Two 19-year-olds charged with trespassing at arena

Saturday, January 25th

4:23 p.m. – A male from Benalto is facing a charge after breaching a court order. The 50-year-old was on conditions not to enter a licensed establishment. The male was arrested after turning himself in to police and is charged with failure to comply with an undertaking.

6:20 p.m. – RCMP on patrol in Eckville observed a vehicle being operated erratically on 51st Avenue at 50th Street. The vehicle was being driven without headlights after the driver exited a bar. A traffic stop was conducted and the 48-year-old female driver was arrested. From Eckville, she refused to provide a breath sample and is now charged with impaired driving and refusal of an approved screening device.

Sunday, January 26th

9:48 a.m. – RCMP are investigating the theft of a truck on 47A Avenue in Sylvan Lake. The truck was stolen from outside the owner’s residence.

It was later recovered between 51st Street and 52nd Street in Sylvan Lake. The vehicle was not damaged. An investigation is ongoing.

8:47 p.m. – A break in to a residence on 50A Avenue in Sylvan Lake was reported to RCMP. Witnesses advise the vacant house was entered by what appeared to be youths with flashlights. Members patrolled the area and checked the residence but the individuals had left the area.

Wednesday, January 29th

1:58 a.m. – An RCMP officer conducted a patrol in the parking lot of the health unit on 49th Avenue in Sylvan Lake after a male was observed causing a disturbance. The male, located hiding behind a snowbank, was found to be intoxicated. The 19-year-old Saskatchewan male was arrested as he was found to be in breach of outstanding conditions and was transported to cells until sober.

9:06 a.m. – A 23-year-old Sylvan Lake male is facing a charge of driving while disqualified. A municipal bylaw member stopped a vehicle on 47th Avenue in Sylvan Lake and the driver was found to be suspended for impaired driving. RCMP members assisted and the male was arrested at the scene. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

3:39 p.m. – An anonymous complaint by a concerned citizen resulted in charges laid against a Sylvan Lake male. A male was witnessed in an intoxicated state driving away in his vehicle from Whitecap Close. The vehicle was stopped a short time later by RCMP and the 54-year-old male was transported to the detachment. He is facing charges of impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08.

Friday, January 31st

11:34 p.m. – A tip of suspicious males was reported to RCMP after youths were seen running towards Sylvan Lake arena and were believed to have entered the facility. Police attended and located two of the four males who attempted to flee the area. The two males, aged 19, of Sylvan Lake were charged with trespassing.
