Devin Dreeshen has officially been elected as the United Conservative Party candidate for the upcoming election.
Dreeshen, son of Red Deer-Mountain View MP Earl Dreeshen, was elected by card-carrying members of the UCP Wednesday night.

There were six candidates in total, running for the position of UCP candidate.
Polling stations were held in Sylvan Lake, Delburn and Penhold.
The by-election has not yet been called, but must take place before Aug. 5.
