UPDATE: Charges sworn in cocaine and stolen gun seizure in Sylvan Lake

Three individuals face trafficking charges

Two Sylvan Lake men and one Sylvan Lake woman face trafficking charges after the Priority Crimes Task Force seized cocaine, cash and a stolen firearm during two search warrants in Sylvan Lake on Dec. 1st.

At approximately 8 a.m. police officers from Sylvan Lake RCMP, Red Deer RCMP and Red Deer Police Dog Services executed search warrants at a residence on 42nd St. in Sylvan Lake and a residence on 51st St. in Sylvan Lake. The search warrants were the result of a month-long drug trafficking investigation.

Priority Crimes Task Force members seized cocaine, cash and a rifle that had been stolen out of Strathcona County and took two men and one woman into custody without incident.

A 26-year-old woman faces the charges of possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Marijuana), possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cannabis resin), possession of Schedule 1 substance (Oxycodone), possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a prohibited weapon.

A 37-year-old man faces the charges of careless storage of a firearm, possessing a firearm without license and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

A 28-year-old man faces the charges of possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (marijuana), possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cannabis resin), possession of Schedule 1 substance (Oxycodone), possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a prohibited weapon.
