WOW! Networking is continuing to provide educational and networking opportunities for women in business.

On Thursday, November 10 WOW! Networking brought in Zaheen Nanji to speak to a group of business women at Sugarbelle Cakery. Nanji is a successful business owner who has written two motivational books and speaks to groups of people to cut the learning curve of business she went through after she immigrated to Canada from Kenya.

“I want to make the learning curve less steep than it was for me,” she said. “I know the tricks and trades now and if I can teach that - it will make their learning easier.”

Nanji’s speech consisted of sharing her 7 Habits of Resilient Entrepreneurs and Leaders. The habits are:

1) Have a routine

2) Sent an intent and build emotional intelligence

3) Be flexible and adaptable

4) Eliminate the word failure. Use setback or feedback instead

5) Innovation by learning

6) Embrace change

7) Delegate

Using these tools as a guideline Nanji provided her stories and experiences through business as over 20 business women took notes. The meeting was also an opportunity for the women to network not only with Nanji, but each other as well.

WOW! Networking organizer Michelle Andrishak is happy to continually provide opportunities of education and growth to the community of Sylvan Lake.

“WOW makes time for connections between women in business in your community,” she said. “You can understand what others have to offer in order to collaborate, cross promote and build each other up. The relationship building equates to sales and bottom line - it brings more people to your doors.”

Nanji added, “We are social beings - when you ask for help; you succeed and that’s why its important.”

Andrishak feels that bringing in women like Nanji is an important lesson for any woman in business.

“It’s really important to bring in speakers like Zaheen because it gives the perspective of women who have done it before us,” Andrishak said.

She added that WOW! Networking brings in many speakers and if you would like more information, you can log on to
