Bert Konynenbelt, age 88, of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, went home to his heavenly Father on August 27, 2020.
Bert was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, and was raised on the family farm near Nobleford, Alberta. He met his sweetheart Evelyn Postman, also of Nobleford, whom he married in 1956.
Together they established a home in Nobleford, raising three children there. In 1986 they moved to Sylvan Lake to be closer to their children and families. He retired in 1992 after running a small local backhoe operation.
Bert was a handyman. He loved to tinker, could fix almost anything. Bert and Evelyn loved to go camping with their family, and eventually with their beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They also enjoyed travelling to the Caribbean, Mexico and even Europe.
Bert is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son Rocky (Nancy, and their daughters Emmylou (Wes) Caldwell and Carly (Carl) Blazina); daughter Shelly (Art Steenbergen, and their sons Lyle (Lara), Jason, and Cole (Danielle)); and son Perry (Diane, and their daughters Sara and Larissa). He is survived by 16 great-grandchildren; his only sister Sena Toebes and two nieces and their families.
There will be no funeral service.
