January 28, 2007 - December 19, 2019
With deeply saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Brooke-Lynn 'Brookie' Longman of Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Too soon and too young she was taken from us at the Stollery Children's Hospital, Edmonton on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the age of 12 years.
Brooke-Lynn was born at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on January 28, 2007 to Jamie and Jared Longman. She came into this world loving her family with everything she had. For those who were touched by Brooke-Lynn's love, a special bond was intertwined into everything she did with you. We believe it takes a community to raise a child, and Brooke-Lynn's community was built on a circle of loyalty, fierce friendship, and plenty of fun! She was always so helpful, especially if it involved taking care of babies or hanging out with her cousins. Brooke was so good with animals, especially Blue and Spaz. No matter what she was doing, she was caring and loving. Brooke-Lynn took great pride in her active lifestyle. Her athleticism was showcased through cheer, swimming, dance, and climbing mountains. Basically anything she tried. She was inseparable from her dear friends Hayden, Kira, Abby, and Teagan. They bonded through their many years in French Immersion at Steffie Woima. Brooke-Lynn's claim to fame this year was making the senior basketball team while being a junior. She made sure to remind her older sisters, Zoey and Daytona of her achievement daily. Such a proud moment in the Longman household. Brooke-Lynn was taken from us far, far too soon. She will forever remain in our hearts and in our lives. She made a profound impact on everyone she graced with her beautiful soul. She made her entrance into heaven on December 19, 2019. It won't take long for the angels to realize what an amazing gift they received; a ready-made angel. Much love to our precious Brookie forever and always!
"Now she flies with the butterflies"
Brooke-Lynn's community was large and loving. She will be greatly missed and remembered forever by her parents, Jared and Jamie; and her two sisters and best friends, Daytona (Isaiah) and Zoey. She will also be sadly missed by her aunts and uncles, Angelique (Dean) Power and their son, Nicholas; Shannon (Avery) Lozowy and their family, Max, Sam, and Allena; Norris (Lindsay) Longman and their family, Nixon and Masen; and Alex (Andrea) Longman and their family, Madison and Owen; as well as her grandparents, Patrick Summers, Sheilagh (John) Detka, Cliff (Vivian) Longman, her GG, Annette Lapointe; in addition to many cherished friends and other relatives.
