February 11, 1936 - February 22, 2019
Cecile Richmond, of Sylvan Lake, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22nd at the Red Deer Hospital at the age of 83 years.

Cecile will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Curt (Krista) and Vern (Tania) beloved grandchildren Caelin (Mark), Ryan, Kendra and Kyle.

She will also be missed by her sister Doris (Wil) Richmond, and in-laws Lloyd (Carol) Reid, and Shirley Richmond as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Cecile was predeceased by Cliff, her husband of 32 years, in 1997. Also her parents, and twin sisters Mary and Nel.

Cecile Betty Ann Hnatiw was born Feb 11, 1936 in Crooked River, Saskatchewan to Paul and Lena Hnatiw. She moved to Alberta at the age of 28 where she worked at the doctor's office in Sylvan Lake.

Cecile eventually met and married Cliff Richmond on July 16, 1965.

Their firstborn son Curt was born in March of 1966 and Vern followed in April of 1968.

Cecile's pride and joy were her boys... and then she was blessed with her grandchildren, Caelin, Ryan and Kyle. Kendra later joined her family as well. Being a Baba to these kids brought her immense joy.

Cecile and Cliff were self-employed for the majority of their married life and instilled a strong work ethic in both of their boys.

The coffee pot was always on at their home and it was never a surprise for Curt or Vern to have company in their kitchen enjoying a visit, regardless of the time of day.

Cecile had many dear friends that blessed her life and she appreciated their companionship very much.

She was also an animal lover! She loved her dogs, kitties and her grand dogs too.

She was often busy with her social activities whether it be the Red Hatter's Club (though she didn't care for wearing hats), Tai-Chi, swimming, the activities that the Senior's Centre provided, coffee time with friends, or anything else that came her way, she was usually up for it.

Cecile was always eager to cheer on her grandchildren in anything they were doing.

Any time spent with family, for any occasion, was a wonderful day for Cecile.

Cecile will be sincerely missed and her absence felt daily by anyone who was blessed to have her in their lives.

"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." By Thomas Campbell.

A Celebration of Cecile's life will be held at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sylvan Lake, AB, 5020 48 St, Sylvan Lake, AB on February 28th, 2019 at 2:00pm.
