In Loving Memory (1946-2023) ~
Dave Neufeld of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at his home with his wife by his side; just shy of his 77th birthday. Born in Bassano, Alberta, Dave was the second of eleven children and being part of such a large family, mostly boys, Dave quickly grew to love all things outdoors.
From swimming in aquatics, to unleashing angry woodland creatures on his mother's unsuspecting guests. Mischief was strong in the Neufeld DNA. After high school, a hockey injury ended his aspirations for a law enforcement career.
Dave spent some time exploring Europe, and in the financial industry. Later, he enjoyed farming, which he said was his favorite career. Dave's final career began as a carpenter by trade and transitioned to a Construction Superintendent; his work can be seen in many buildings in Central Alberta.
After retiring in 2006, he could focus on all the great loves in his life. Enjoying vacations and golfing with Audrey, his wife of 50 years. Taking in rodeos with his eldest daughter Nicole. Camping with his middle daughter Heather (husband, Jim and kids; Lincoln and Jack). Spending time on the family farm and watching hockey with his youngest daughter Kim (husband, Tyler and kids; Konner, Landen, Chase and Rosaleen).
Dave was a devoted husband, a dedicated father, an incredible Papa and best friend.
He will be lovingly remembered by his immediate family, his siblings; Bud (Shirley), Jim (Karen), Carl (Brenda), John (Lori), Jerry, Rick (Judy), Randy, Tom (Rhonda), Stephen, Irene Holte; his sister-in-law, Donna May (Frank) Attema; his brother-in-law, Walter (Rosemarie) Reed and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and teammates.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Sarah (Sally); his sister-in-law, Shirley (Haggerty) Neufeld, and his brother-in-law, Art Holte.
To further honor his memory, Dave's loved ones invite you to share your memories and stories with them at www.DaveNeufeldMemorial.com. The family has chosen to have a private Celebration of Life at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sylvan Lake Alliance Church building fund, www.alliancecommunity.ca, where Dave was a member.
