December 20, 2018
On December 20, 2018, Richard (Dick) Gordon Pedlar passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, much loved and surrounded by his family.

Dick is survived by his wife and friend Denise, his daughter Tina (Kurt) Larsen and son Jason (Regan) Kelts as well as his grandchildren Austin, Hayley and Jaden and his sisters; Georgianna (Doug) McDavid and Mary Helen (Bob) Hays and their families.

Dick was predeceased by his father, Dr Fred Pedlar and his mother, Nettie Pedlar and infant sister Winnifred.

Dick will be remembered as a loving man with a great sense of humour.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and with his grandchildren; attending their hockey games, baseball games, curling events, school sporting events and dance recitals.

Dick also loved the family cabin on Sylvan Lake where everyone enjoyed family celebrations.

Dick was a professional truck driver. He travelled across Canada and the USA with Yanke Transport and across central Alberta while working for Medicine Valley Transport and The Country of Lacombe.

He was recently retired from his work, relishing his all too brief retirement.

The family is grateful to Dr. Curtis and the nursing staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for the kind, caring and professional treatment they provided. Heartfelt thanks to Ed and Jada at the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home for their arrangements.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sylvan Lake Legion Branch 212, 4916 50th Avenue, on January 12, 2019 at 1:00pm.

For those who are wishing to make a memorial donation in Dick's name, donations may be made to the Central Alberta Humane Society (cahumane.com) or to the Sylvan Lake Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion - Poppy Fund for Veterans.

Cremation has been entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, AB.
