April 23, 1958 - October 2, 2024

On a warm and cloudy fall day, our beloved Donna Jean Salive lost her courageous battle with cancer on October 2, 2024. Surrounded by family and friends, she had faced this monumental challenge with grace and dignity.

Donna was predeceased by her parents Norman (2014) and Lorraine (2021) Salive and brother Daniel Salive (2017). She is survived by her partner and the love of her life Gary McGeough and their fur baby Molly Moe. She'll remain forever in the hearts of her two sons Jason (Carley) Salive and Shawn Blain. Adored sister to the late Daniel (Michelle) Salive, Darlene (Gerald) Beaulieu, Dale Salive and Diane (Gerald) Finn. Fondly remembered as Nana and Great Nana, Auntie, and Great Auntie "Paris". Profoundly missed by the extended McGeough family, her many friends and devoted clients. Born April 23, 1958 in Chatham, Ontario to proud parents Norman and Lorraine, she later sought a fresh start in Alberta with her boys. A strong willed and very passionate young woman, Donna's amazing hairstyling skills provided her the opportunity to open her own salons. She was the proud and successful business owner of Shampoo, then Guys and Dolls in Red Deer, which she relocated to Sylvan Lake where she resided. Not only was Donna an exceptional stylist, her culinary skills were second to none she also enjoyed decorating, flowers and floral arrangements and cooking for family and friends who always appreciated her incredible gourmet meals.

Donna worked very hard, was a staunch supporter of her community, and a loyal Flames fan which made for a lively rivalry with Gary, an avid Oilers fan. She enjoyed downtime lounging with a book and a glass of wine with Gary on the boat, vacationing in Mexico with family and friends or their many treasured road trips in their convertible, all of which provided everlasting memories.

Our memories will hold forever her ever-present smile and generous nature which will be missed by all who were lucky enough to be part of her joyous world. Our heartfelt gratitude to her incredible caregivers at the Red Deer Hospice, angels who went above and beyond.

If desired, donations to the Red Deer Hospice Society in her memory would be appreciated.

The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you shall never fade away.

A Celebration of Donna's Life will be held on Saturday May 31, 2025 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Sylvan Lake Royal Canadian Legion Branch 212: 4916-50 Ave. Sylvan Lake, AB
