Edna J McKerchar passed away peacefully on Nov 23, 2021, at the age of 87.
Edna was born March 13, 1934, in Lashburn, SK. She was 1 of 4 children of Herbert and Idell Sawtell of Waseca, SK. Her siblings included Noreen Wagner, Edith Hildebrandt (identical twin sister) and Ronald Sawtell.
She married James A. McKerchar in Nov 21, 1951. They raised 5 children on their farm south of Waseca, SK. Their children were Janet, John, Scott, Nancy & Neil. After losing her husband in 2000, she moved to Sylvan Lake, AB, in 2001, to be closer to 3 of her 5 kids. In 2019, she moved into Bethany Care Center.
Edna was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 7 and friend to many. She was loved by one and all. Edna was an energetic lady with a good sense of humor, artistic mind, incredible wisdom, and a kind & honest heart. She enjoyed curling, gardening, cooking, decorating, artwork, large holiday gatherings, bingo and time with family and friends.
She will be sadly missed.
If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Edna's memory can be made to Bethany Care Center in Sylvan Lake, AB, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
An outdoor Memorial is planned for Sat, June 11, 2022, at Waseca Cemetery at 10:30 AM. Lunch will follow at the Waseca Senior's centre.
Cremation entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
