Floyd passed peacefully at Red Deer Hospital at age of 87. He celebrated his birthday in hospital.
Floyd was in the appliance business for over 32 years. He owned and operate Anderson's Appliance Arcade Ltd. in Red Deer and was a very successful businessman and salesman. Maytag's "Ole Lonely"!
He leaves to mourn his loving wife Doris of 40 years; daughter Lynn Heimsoth (Greg); son Jeff (Julie); many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, step great grandchildren and a new great granddaughter Holly. Also mourning his loss are step daughters Sandy (Dennis), Dr. Catherine Caldwell, Heather (Blair), Sheryl (Louis), Leigh-Ann (Mark) and Stepson Alex (Barb). Floyd was predeceased by his mother Dorothy, father Dean and his eldest daughter Lori.
In respect of Floyd's wishes, there will be no funeral however a "Celebration of Life" will be held in the spring at the acreage and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Fish and Game Association in Edmonton, 6924 - 104 St. N. W. T6H 2L7.
Floyd was President of Sylvan Lake and District Fish and Game Association for over five years and donated his time at Neimela Dam, cutting the grass and maintaining same stocking fish etc., which the Sylvan Lake Fish & Game leased and maintain for many years. Floyd belonged to many organizations over the years; namely Kinsmen, Lions, Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce and judged figure skating for 20 years. He was instrumental in the building of Kin City Arena.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at the Red Deer Hospital who looked after Floyd for the past month.
We would also like to recognize Dr. Tilley, Ryan, Murphy, Kruger, Ellis and a numerous other Doctors who cared for Floyd.
