George Slater passed away peacefully at the Red Deer hospital on January 10, 2021.
George was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on November 19, 1938 to Jenny and Bill Slater. He grew up in Calgary, Alberta where he enjoyed his passion for the CFL, Calgary Stampeders, fishing and golfing. George and his wife Carol raised their family in Hillhurst Sunnyside, Calgary until George's retirement and they then moved to Sylvan Lake, Alberta where he could continue to do the things he loved.
George is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol, daughter Ginger Andersen, son-in-law Harry Andersen and grandson Thomas Andersen.
George will be missed dearly by his family.
George's family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for the great care they provided to him.
Due to COVID no service will be held at this time, but a memorial will be determined for a later date
Cremation has been entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta
