Henry Ray Brzak

1933-2015

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Henry Ray Brzak on January 8, 2015 at the age of 81 years, Henry passed away peacefully at the Rosefield Center in Innisfail, Alberta. Henry was born on September 26, 1933 at Raven, Alberta. He grew up on the family farm in the Evergreen district and was the second oldest of seven siblings. In his younger years, Henry worked for the Palkot farm, the Nordegg Coal Mine and the CP Railway. In 1954, Henry started working for the CN Railway where he continued to work for the next 35 years. After, retiring from CN in 1989 Henry started working at the Sylvan Lake Community Center. There he enjoyed time spent with the Sylvan Lake Seniors and the children of Sylvan Lake Kindergarten and Playgroup.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce of Sylvan Lake, four children: Gail (Larry) Standing of Sylvan Lake, Wayne Brzak of Sylvan Lake, Wesley (Patty) Brzak of Edmonton, and Lois Brzak of Lacombe.

Also surviving are two brothers: Jerry (Megan) Brzak of Sylvan Lake, and Ken (Sue-Ann) Brzak of Leslieville, two sisters: Margret Roberson of Eckville and Josie (Dave) Gibbs of Eckville, one brother in-law Jim Grant of Red Deer and one sister in-law Diane Brzak of Wetaskiwin, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Henry was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Charlotte Brzak of Eckville, one sister Nellie Grant of Red Deer and one brother Harry Brzak of Eckville. A Funeral Service will be held at the Eckville Community Center, 52 Street and 54 Avenue, Eckville Alberta on Saturday January 17, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Interment at Raven Cemetery, Raven, Alberta.
