October 10, 1938 – February 13, 2019
On Wednesday February 13th, 2019, Mr. Jack Irven Leeti of Sylvan Lake, AB passed peacefully in the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 80 years.
Irven will be lovingly remembered by his three step-sons; Jim (Janet), Larry (Carrie), and Robert (Melanie) and families.
Irven also leaves to mourn one brother, Gordon (Johanna) Leeti. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Irven was predeceased by his wife Anna of 34 years, his parents, Elmer and Martha Leeti, sisters; Aileen Lyons and Helen Anderson.
Irven was born in Red Deer, AB to Elmer and Martha on October 10, 1938.
He grew up on the family farm on the north end of Sylvan Lake. Irven farmed the land and raised cattle. He loved his yard and it always looked like a park. Later he planted a saskatoon orchard.
In earlier years Irven loved to go in the truck and camper, to go out camping and fishing in the west country. Ice fishing was always one of his passions and always spent as much time as he could out on the ice. He belonged to the Sylvan Fish and Game until they shut down.
He will be greatly missed and always loved.
A Celebration of Irven’s life will be held at the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home, 5019 47a Avenue, Sylvan Lake, AB on Thursday, February 21st,2019 at 2:00pm. A time of memories and refreshments will follow the service at the Sylvan Lake Legion Branch 212.
For those who wish to make a memorial donation in Irven’s name, the family requests that they are made to the Stars Shock and Trauma Air Rescue Society.
The family would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses on Unit 32 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for their great care of Irven.
