Joyce was born in Calgary on July 1, 1935 and lived with her parents Cecil and Clara Barker in Okotoks. At the age of 5, the family moved to Sylvan Lake.
In 1968 Joyce moved to Vancouver to work. While there she met Don Poole whom she married and they were together for 47 years.
She was very active in volunteering at the gift shop at Surrey Memorial Hospital. She was active in her church, teaching Sunday School and running the Church Library.
Sadly, after a short illness, she went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, May 16, 2022. She will be sorely missed by her loving husband Don of Langley, BC, two brothers both of Sylvan Lake, Gordon Barker and Tom (Elaine) Barker, two sisters, Shirley Polson of Calgary and Muriel (Lanny) Walkey of Red Deer and all of Don's family.
Joyce's request was that she was to be cremated and her ashes be buried with her parents.
