It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence William White. Larry passed away at the age of 89, at Bethany Sylvan Lake. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Larry's caregivers at Bethany Sylvan Lake for making his final months comfortable and enjoyable.

Larry was born in Torlea, Alberta and grew up near Viking, Alberta. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1955 to 1975. During this time, he resided in many areas including Ontario and Germany. In 1976 he settled in Sylvan Lake, his home, where he remained.

Lawrence is survived by his six children: Darrell White, Stephen White (Cindy), Mitchel White, Kevin White (Joanne), Brad White (Jennifer), and Tara Hogstedt (Bob); twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Kelly White; and sisters Irene and Ruby (Harold). Larry was predeceased by his parents, Carlos and Eleanor, and siblings: Robert, Norman, Mildred, Don, June, and William.

Larry could quite often be found tinkering in his garage on bicycles, old cars, or model trains, and he enjoyed going to museums and car shows. He was a very handy mechanic and would jump at any opportunity to help out friends and family if something needed fixing. Even in his later years, he would often be seen cruising around Sylvan Lake on his one-of-a-kind bicycles and other custom recreational vehicles. Larry was a loving and caring father, grandfather, neighbour, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

No formal service will take place at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date when all of his family can gather together. For those who wish to do so, donations can be made in his name to the Stars Foundation.
