Leona Esther Ewing (formerly Peters)

August 7, 1933 - June 1, 2025

It is with great love that we announce the passing of our mother, Leona Ewing at the age of 91.

Leona is lovingly remembered by her children: Shirley (Wes) Swainson, Sharin (Leif) Madsen, Mitch (Candace) Peters, Dale (Brendalee) Peters, Duane (Tracy) Peters, and Lauri (Ernie) Grummett, along with seventeen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Newell Ewing, son Darrell Peters (Ora), grandson Parker Peters, and Larry Peters, father of her children.

Leona's life was one of sharing with others and she handled it with resilience, grace, and friendship, always striving for joyful adventure, even in times of adversity. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Mom will be interred with her mother Mabel, next to her father John Elliott, at Lakeview Cemetery in Sylvan Lake, Alberta in August 2025 (tbd).
