In Loving Memory of Margaret Timmermans 1929 - 2019

Margaret Adolphina Petronella Timmermans (nee Klijnhout) passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice in Kamloops, B.C. on February 7, 2019, in her 90th year.

Margaret, the older of twins, was born in Arnhem, Gelderland, the Netherlands on March 24, 1929.

In 1952, she married her lifelong partner and loving husband Leopold Timmermans. Shortly after, they moved to Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan to start a new life.

In the years that followed, Margaret and Leo lived in various communities in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, where they raised their family, made life-long friends and enjoyed the best of Canada.

As well as being an active gardener and maintaining a beautiful home, Margaret enjoyed curling, golfing, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. She also loved to knit and crochet, and often explained that she had learned to knit at age three.

There was nothing Margaret liked better than a good game of cards, both recreational and competitive, and she participated in Bridge competitions at both the Alberta and BC Seniors' Games.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered by daughter Faye (Doug) Burles of Kamloops, and sons Eugene (Shelly) Timmermans of Saskatoon Sask., Roy (Cindy) Timmermans of Deep Bay, B.C., and Robert (Cathy) Timmermans of Major Sask., and by her sister Adolphina Huis in't Velt of Wijhe, Overijssel, as well as 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents Adolph and Margeretha Klijnhout, husband Leo, brother Herman Klijnhout, and sisters Marie "Riet" Beekman, Tienike Klijnhout and her twin Bernadine van Betuw.

The family would like to thank the Assisted Living staff at the Hamlets in Kamloops, Dr. A. Cribb, the medical staff at Royal Inland Hospital and at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
