It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our Dad and Grandpa (Papa), Michael Conrad Sputek, at the age of 66 years.
Dad was born on August 30, 1955, in Edmonton to Erika and Josef Sputek and was one of 12 children.
He passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022, in the Red Deer Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.
Mike is survived by his daughters, Erin Jennett (Shawn, Alyvia and Avery), Kimberly McKillop (Chad and Mila), and Sara Sputek. He will be sadly missed by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Dad loved fishing and camping, with so many stories to still be told. An incredible crane operator, it was said many times, "he could change a baby's diaper with that machine." His love for a good thunderstorm, sunset, or guitar solo, is forever embedded in us. Mikes' impact and presence will always be felt by everyone who knew him. - "Who else is gonna bring you a bottle of rain?"
