Norman Joseph

Aug. 14, 1924- Feb. 4, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of Norm Salive announce his passing at RDRH. He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine of 61 beautiful years. He is cherished by his 5 loving children; Daniel (Michelle) Salive, Darlene (Gerry) Beaulieu, Ont., Donna Salive, Diane (Gerald) Finn, Ab. and Dale Salive of B.C. He also has 7 wonderful grandchildren; Monique (Cory) Matthys, Jay (Carley) Salive, Shawn Blain (Tanya), Justin Beaulieu (Olivia), Alysha Salive (Tyler and Jeremiah (1997), Nathan (2002) Beaulieu. 8 great grandchildren; Maya Matthys (2008), and 1 great great grandson. Norm was born in Walkerville, Ont. to parents Lucien and Jeanette (Emery) Salive. Coming from a large family of 9 children he was predeceased by his siblings; Frank Salive, Madelaine DeDauw, Pauline Heavens, Louis Oriet, and survived by dear brothers; Patrick Lawrence, Raymond and Joe Salive. Norm will also be missed by many extended family and friends near and far. Norm was admired by many, as a WWII veteran with the Calgary Highlanders and fought over in Europe from 1942 - 1944, he was a man of honor and as a patriotic as they come. He was awarded a life membership from the K of C (Ont.) and also RCL Branch #212 Sylvan Lake, AB. A CELEBRATION of his life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #212, 4916 - 50 Ave. Sylvan Lake, Ab. March 1, at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 202, 5913 50 Ave. Red Deer, Ab., T4N 4C4 or Veterans Voices of Canada, 94 Wildrose Dr. Sylvan Lake, Ab. T4S 2L8.
