November 3, 1951 - March 21, 2024
Penny (Bond) Schill, age 72, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, surrounded by family and wrapped in love. Penny initially wanted to write her own obituary and had begun to dictate it, however, she had so many things to say that the joke was we would have had to take out a 5-page spread in the paper to cover it all. We hope we do your story justice Penny.
Penny was born on November 3, 1951, to Tommie & Yvonne Bond in Red Deer, AB and was the third of four children. She grew up in Red Deer and spent her summers at the cottage in Sylvan Lake.
We could tell you about the jobs and places she lived during her life, but that was only a small part of her journey. Instead, let's focus on all the people she touched and loved. Because after all, connections are what life is really about.
There was always a spot at her table for family, friends, neighbors', or extra kids. A fresh pot of tea or a beer offered while settling in for a visit. She listened, laughed, and celebrated. She gave advice, hugs, and wiped tears. She was a safe place.
Penny is survived by her loving partner, David Lundsford, her children, Chad Schill & Aimée (Patrick) Zaph, grandchildren, Ryder Schill, River Schill & Etta Zaph, Siblings, Heather (Cliff) Andersen & Marilyn (Dick) Jewell, Brother & Sister-In-Law, Terry Schill & Patricia Kudryk, along with nephews and nieces, extended family and so many amazing friends.
In her words "I'm never really gone.
Whenever you think of me - I'm there"
We invite you to come and celebrate Penny's life on Tuesday, April 30. 2024 from 2-4 pm at the Sylvan Lake Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wellspring Alberta or the Sylvan Lake Seniors Centre.
