BOTTRELL

Robert Ridley (Bob)

After a courageous battle with cancer, Bob (Robert) Bottrell died peacefully on November 19, 2014 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 66. He leaves behind his sons Damian, Tyler and Kent, grandchildren and their families. Bob was born on March 13, 1948 and grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He worked in the mines near Flin Flon for many years before moving to British Columbia then settling in Central Alberta, where he resided for the past 15 years. Bob will be fondly remembered by his friends in Sylvan Lake. He always wore a smile and his signature welder's cap - which earned him the nickname of 'Bob the Builder' in town. He enjoyed working with his hands and would take on many building projects, such as building fences and landscaping. Most recently, Bob worked driving taxi in Sylvan Lake. He enjoyed this job as it allowed him to befriend many people and share his views on life… with those around him.

Bob requested to be cremated. His ashes will be interred by his family, at a later date, in the Flin Flon area. The family would like to recognize the strong friendships that Bob built in Sylvan Lake and for the support showed by these friends with his battle.
