February 22, 1959 - December 18, 2023

In Loving Memory ~

It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of Sherry Hainsworth's passing on December 18th, 2023, at the age of 64.

Sherry Hainsworth, a woman of unwavering strength and boundless love, peacefully passed away after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Born Sherry Skaley on February 22, 1959, in Bassano, AB, Sherry was the cherished and only daughter to Harold and Darlene Skaley.

In 1979, Sherry's life took a beautiful turn when she met the love of her life, Blayne, on a blind date. Five years later, in August 1984, they exchanged vows and embarked on a 38-year journey of marriage, settling in Sylvan Lake in 1987 and calling it home. Together, they welcomed two daughters into their lives, Alysha and Kendra.

For 44 years, Sherry poured her passion into her career as a travel agent, creating lasting connections with both clients and colleagues. Infusing her personal touch into each trip, she created cherished experiences that her clients loved her for.

Beyond her professional success, Sherry's love for travel extended beyond her profession; it was a lifelong passion she instilled in her daughters.

While her professional life was marked by adventure, Sherry's greatest joy came from being a devoted mother and wife. Despite her demanding career, she never missed a moment in her children's lives, traveling far and wide to support them in their sports, dreams, and passions, creating treasured memories along the way.

Sherry's love extended to her artistic side, where she cultivated beauty and her talent for scrapbooking and card making, a gift she shared with all who were dear to her.

Her thoughtful, handmade cards became a symbol of her love and will be greatly missed by all. Sherry enjoyed long walks, coffee with good friends, and had a special place in her heart for holidays, with Christmas holding a particularly fond spot.

A woman of few words, Sherry's actions spoke volumes. Selfless and humble, she made sacrifices for the well-being of her family without seeking anything in return.

Even in her final days, Sherry faced her battle with cancer with unwavering grace and strength. Her spirits remained gracious, her faith unyielding, and she always looked towards tomorrow.

The legacy of love and strength she leaves behind is a testament to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Blayne Hainsworth, her children Alysha and Kendra Hainsworth, fur grandbaby Tina, mother Darlene Skaley, soul sister Jane Innes, Nephew Bruce McQuay along with his wife Carla McQuay, and a large circle of extended family, friends, and co-workers, too numerous to list.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sherry's name to The Canadian Cancer Society to support ongoing research and assistance for those battling this relentless disease.

A gathering remembering Sherry will be held in the spring, with a date to be announced.
