In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Stella Alice Lagoutte at the age of 87 years, on August 6, 2024, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
Born January 21, 1937, in Leask, Saskatchewan.
Stella and Roland were married October 4, 1955, but their romance started in 1953! They had 67 years spent together on many journeys of hardship on the farm, travels across many provinces. Together always, enduring happy times as well as sad. They faced everything together, building their family and making many friends along the way.
Stella's talent for cooking and family always was of utmost importance to her. She always was prepared to feed and comfort anyone who passed through her door. She has the biggest heart and a breathtaking smile. Everyone knew they were loved beyond measure whether coming or going.
Stella enjoyed all her hobbies, especially her ceramics, sewing or crafting flower arrangements, and especially her garden. She loved her lilies, roses, and vegetables. Always so proud of what she grew with her own hands.
She is survived by her loving husband, Roland Lucien Lagoutte of 67 years, of Sylvan Lake, Alberta; son Larry Roland Lagoutte (Brenda) of Sylvan Lake, Alberta; daughter Susan Catherine Tkachuk (William) of Sturgeon County, Alberta; sister Lydia Kelston (Adam) of Red Deer, Alberta; ten wonderful grandchildren and thirteen loving great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Donna Lucier (Maurice); and brother-in-law Ed Lang (Sylvia).
Stella was predeceased by her loving parents, Alphonse and Adeline Lucier; brothers Paul, Lloyd, Maurice, and Raymond; sisters: Susan (infant), Cecile, Marguerite, and Sylvia.
A Funeral Mass was held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Our Lady of Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 5033 47A Avenue, Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, Sylvan Lake, Alberta following the Funeral Mass. A time of fellowship will be had at the Sylvan Lake Legion. In lieu of other tributes, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation.
"God looked around his garden,
And found an empty place,
He then looked upon the earth,
And saw a tired face,
He put his arms around you, Mom
And took you home to rest
God's Garden must be beautiful,
For he only takes the best!"
