June 28, 1984 - May 7, 2022
It is with the greatest sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Zachary Wray Blair, to drug addiction, at the age of 37 on May 7, 2022. We knew this day was coming and yet, we were ill prepared for it to finally arrive. We continued to hold out hope that he would finally be free from the drugs that gripped him and that he would join the handful of drug addicts who fully recovered and could remain clean and sober. Alas, it wasn't meant to be and he wascalled home too young to soar above us with the angels. His artistic abilities, charismatic smile, humor, kindness and intellect will be sorely missed by those who truly knew him and loved him. Finally, in death, he can now escape the tentacles of drug addiction and all the toxic people who never allowed him to remain clean and sober when he so desperately wanted to be.
Zach was born at Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on June 28, 1984. He was a little farm boy on the family farm outside of Kitscoty, Alberta until the family moved to Oregon in the fall of 1991. Zach loved living in Oregon where he thrived in school, had dreams and goals, played baseball and football. Zach felt he lost his dreams and goals when the family moved back to Alberta, Canada in 1999. Zach followed several career paths over his short life from carpentry, welding, water well drilling and working in the oil and gas industry. Zach excelled at whatever he decided to do for work. He was a math genius and had a natural artistic ability for drawing. Zach enjoyed fishing, camping and watching movies.
Zach leaves to mourn his passing, his two precious daughter's Autumn Nicole Sumer KrasneskyBlair and Aisleigh Wray Blair. Zach is also survived by his loving parents, Leonard and Tammy Blair of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, his older brother, Nathan Blair of Calgary, Alberta, and his younger sister, Amanda (Tyler) Walter of Sylvan Lake, Alberta along with his nephew Tyson and nieces, Kaitlyn, Presley and Averie.
There will be no public memorial service as the family will treasure their memories of Zach in private. Zach will be cremated and returned into the care of his family where he can finally rest in peace.
