Here we go again! I’m writing to you in concern of the fence they are putting up around the marina.
This is supposed to be a public boat launch. The town has sold the public boat launch out from under the residents of Sylvan Lake and now this fence is going to be blocking the view of the lake.
For the health of the town we DO NOT need to block the lake any further than you have. They have slowly crushed Sylvan Lake residents’ rights.
Is it not against the rules to block public access to the boat launch? Do we not want people to come to Sylvan Lake for the beauty of the lake or a white picket fence blocking the view?
I’m sure most residents or even the tourists aren’t going to be happy to lose another bite from their view. We have motels, hotels and commercial businesses sitting empty. This is not a HEALTHY situation for a growing town.

Editor’s Note: The marina property and boat launch have been owned by private businesses for many years. A development permit has been issued by the town for various projects on the site.
Part of the approval was that the boat launch would be available for public use.
