Dear Editor,
I was driving eastbound on Highway 11 at about 7:30 p.m. last Wednesday (June 6th), into Red Deer and there was a boy walking on the shoulder of the road with nothing more than a thin sweater and his backpack … a child!!!
At least 50 drivers saw him. I pulled over immediately and called 911!
By the time the police arrived … he had gotten to my car and I asked him if he was okay, and how old he was … He is 11.
11 years old … still a child … and not another single soul stopped to see if he was okay or did anything about it!
I am more than disgusted and outraged to think that if my child were ever in a situation (heaven forbid), that no one would even stop or call the police to help!
What a sad world we live in where no one will help even a child anymore! Made me sick to my stomach!
