Players and coaches watched from the sideline as Sylvan Lake Lion Ryan Arnold tried to elude a Strathmore Spartan player intent on tackling him after catching the ball during Saturday’s league game.
The Lions lost their first game of the season after allowing the Spartans to take a 22-20 lead in the last minute of the game. Then an interception thrown by the Lions was run in for another Spartan touchdown on the last play of the game. Final score 28-20 for the Spartans.
The Bantam Lions are now 3-1 on the season.
