Strathmore would open up the scoring with a goal from Walker Van Eaton at 12:57, however Sylvan Lake would quickly answer back at 9:06 with a goal from Chase Bergstrom, assisted by Ashton Fonda and Jordan Karcha.

The tie would last until the 11:25 mark of the second period when Strathmore opened up the game with a goal by Ethan Van Egmond and another at the 6:15 mark by Ethan White. Sylvan Lake did manage to pull the game within one at the 4:05 mark of the second on a goal by Ashton Fonda, assisted by Aden Michael and Jordan Karcha.

The game would stay close until the 15:32 mark of the third period when Strathmore’s Jerrin Hendricks cashed in a power play goal which would be the final goal of the game in the 4-2 win for the opposing team.

Sylvan Lake goaltender, Brendan Murphy stood on his head for 39 saves on the night, while Strathmore net minder made 33 saves of his own.

Sylvan Lake now heads on the road for games against Red Deer and Okotoks before returning home to the Nexsource Centre for a game against Delburne on February 10 at 7:45 p.m.
