Eight athletes from École H. J. Cody High School earned berths in zone competition following an areas track and field competition in Red Deer last Wednesday.
They competed yesterday (after press time) at Stettler in the zone competition.
Two of the eight placed in two events at areas. Carson Walker was second in hurdles and second in high jump while Aden Smaill was second in hurdles and second in triple jump.
Other athletes who excelled at areas were Josh Bawtinheimer who placed first in triple jump, Madison MacDonald was second in the 400 metre race, Austin Ilcisin was second in discus, Tyler Ledwos was second in high jump, Tyson Maton was second in discus and Brent MacLean was second in the 800 metre race.
