The H.J. Cody senior men’s basketball team went right down to the wire with the 3A provincially top-ranked Camrose Trojans.

The Lakers came into the game a little slow, with the Trojans jumping out to an eight point lead, however some sweet sheeting from behind the arc allowed the Lakers to bring the score back to even. The Lakers would manage to carry a 34-32 lead heading into the second half. The Lakers would unfortunately be unable to carry the lead as the Trojans would eventually go on to take the game with a final score of 74-65.

The Lakers would be lead by 19 points from Noah Lehto, with MacGregor Manyluk adding in 18 of his own - all from behind the arc. Jace Martin would add in 14 points of his own. The Trojans were lead by Griffen Lorenz who piled on 21 points en route to the Camrose victory.

The Lakers will look to rebound from the tough loss this weekend, where they will be playing in Lindsay Thurber’s annual tournament in Red Deer.
