Sylvan Lake Nauticals Chase Murdoch (17) Amber Carson (15) and Elizabeth Moore (12) competed at Western Canadian Championships, at Canada Games Pool, New Westminster, BC, Feb 13-16.

Chase Murdoch, who swam in the men's 17 & over category, had three outstanding swims. He swam 50 fly (dropping 0.6 seconds and earning a new short course 17 & over Western Time), 100 fly (dropping 0.78 seconds and achieving another 17 & over Western Time), and 200 IM (dropping 4.55 seconds and achieving a third 17 & over Western Canadian Time).

Amber Carson swam in the female 15 & under age group for her first Westerns experience. Amber swam the 50 fly, 100 fly, and 200 fly.  Amber's strongest swim was her 200 fly, where she finished 19th, and set a new club record.

Elizabeth Moore continues to impress with her stellar swimming. Also swimming in the 15 & under age group in her first Westerns meet, Elizabeth swam the 50 breast (dropping 0.4 seconds and achieving a 15 year old Age Group National Time), 100 breast (dropping over two seconds and achieving a 16-18 year old Age Group National Time), 200 breast (dropping 2.82 seconds and achieving another 16-18 year old National Time), and 200 IM (dropping three seconds and achieving a 13 year old National Time).

Congratulations to these three swimmers on what they have accomplished so far, as they move up through this elite level of swimming. Also, extra congratulations to Chase Murdoch for being accepted to swim for the University of Lethbridge next season.
