Members of the C. P. Blakely School community (students, parents, relatives, friends, and some staff members) participated in a family fundraiser at Top o’ The Hill golf course Saturday.

Benefiting from the participation of 78 golfers, were the school’s physical education department and an orphanage in Uganda (via T.O.U.C.H. Ministries), which the school has supported for the last few years.

Despite the soggy, rainy, and chilly conditions, many golfers did not let the weather dampen their enthusiasm as they enjoyed the outing with their families and friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

Some novice golfers were on a course for the first time and their enthusiasm was wonderful. Unlike past years, there was no hole in one this year.

Scorekeeping was optional, but each person had a chance to win various prizes while they were on the course. Many door prizes were given away as well, thanks to the unbelievable generosity of local businesses. Also, all food (burgers, buns, hot chocolate) was wonderfully prepared by Leslie Bystrom and Janet Reddekopp.

The entire cost of the registration fee, less a wonderful rate on the green fees from Top O’ The Hill, went to the fundraiser. Amazingly, over $1,000 was raised. All students at C. P. Blakely will benefit from this fundraiser.

A successful event like this is only possible if members of the local business community are extremely generous and supportive. Thanks to all who participated, contributed, and supported C. P. Blakely School in this event!
