Roughly 70 golfers came out to participate in the Sylvan Lake Chamber of Commerce’s first ever golf tournament, Friday.
Denise Bryan-Williams, executive director of the Sylvan Lake Chamber, said the golf tournament was something they had been asked to do numerous times by members, but this is the first time they have put it together.
All proceeds from the tournament will go towards the Chamber, to help keep events and opportunities affordable for its members.
The tournament had a theme of World Championships. Playing to the theme, some golfers came out in jerseys ready for the day. Hole sponsors also themed their holes to match the day.
For the first tournament put together by the Chamber, Bryan-Williams says she is happy with the turnout and hopes everyone has a great time playing the game.
The evening ended with a steak dinner, which Bryan-Williams said had even more guests than the tournament.
