Senior girls bow out during quarter finals at home tournament

The H.J. Cody Lakers senior girls volleyball team battled for the gold in the team’s home tournament over the weekend, but lost in the quarter finals.

The Lakers hosted 11 other teams from around Central Alberta in the two day tournament.

Teams from Delbourne, Frank Maddock, St. Joseph High School, Holy Rosary, Rimbey, Lacombe, Olds, West Central and Wetaskiwin came out for the tournament. A team from Edmonton and one from Strathmore also took part.

Each team played five games in either Pool A or Pool B in the round robin, before the playoff and championship games were held on the afternoon of Oct. 27.
