Sylvan Lake Volleyball Club’s Wave 18U team won a silver medal at the Volleyball Alberta provincial championships in Edmonton Apr. 26th & 27th.
They entered the tournament ranked ninth out of 22 teams in Division 2.
They started off Saturday morning in a close match winning 26-24, 26-24 and that set the pace for the rest of the weekend.
They went on to win six consecutive matches and did not drop a set until the finals losing in two to the number one seed EKVC from East Kootenay B.C.
Anna Carlson and Harper Elwood were named provincial all-stars.
The team included Caitlin Buist, Alecia Daniels, Teneal Mofford, Heather Watson, Talissa Munce, Rachelle Gwozdz, Erin McFadden, Madison McDonald, Brookelynn Louma, Anna Carlson and Harper Elwood. They’re coached by Wayne Halliday and assistant coach Catherine Smith.
