But how do you know which cheese is right one for you? Thankfully, Sylvan Star has a diverse lineup of locally made cheeses that are all lovingly handcrafted and inspired by Art Snoek’s longstanding family history in the cheese-making world.

The Snoek family has been making cheese for six-generations and with that history, it’s safe to say Art knows his way around a wheel of cheese! The Sylvan Star lineup includes a wide variety of traditionally made goudas, flavoured goudas, cheddars, edams, fetas and many other speciality cheeses.

For the Snoeks’ cheese making is truly a labour of love.

“Making the perfect cheese starts with sourcing the best ingredients,” Art says. “From there it’s all about mastering age-old techniques that have been handed down through generations and paying close attention to the finest details. Size, colour and taste all need to come together, but once you have tasted the difference, we promise you’ll never look at cheese the same way.”
